Survey for members - Safe Staffing strikes

Kia Ora Member,

The Safe Staffing strikes survey for members is now open.

Click here to complete the survey.

Your feedback is very important to us as we consider future action, if needed. Encourage workmates to complete the survey too.

As well as seeking feedback from all Te Whatu Ora members, there are specific questions for NZNO delegates and NZNO members who are Duty Nurse Managers.

Please respond by Sunday 14 December.

Online sessions for delegates and DNMs

In addition, online Safe Staffing strikes debrief sessions are being held for NZNO delegates and NZNO members who are Duty Nurse Managers. There will be one more session for each group tomorrow, Thursday 4 December.

LPS in the media

RNZ published this story yesterday about LPS during the Safe Staffing strikes: Health NZ and nurses union at loggerheads over strike plan.

The story highlighted that Te Whatu Ora rejected a plan for dedicated on-call staff to cover gaps during the two week strike, and that Te Whatu Ora's approach to LPS relied on the goodwill of NZNO members to plug gaps in staffing through the strikes.

Bargaining confirmed

NZNO and Te Whatu Ora have confirmed two days of bargaining before Christmas on 12 and 18 December. Members will be kept updated as soon as there is anything to report.

Support firefighters on strike

Firefighters will be on strike again at 12pm this Friday 5 December and Friday 12 December. Find out more about events in your area here and show up in support if you can.

Ngā mihi,

Paul Goulter, Chief Executive Officer
Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa NZNO
